Elizabeth Ackerman recently made the transition from Site Supervisor to Construction Office Coordinator for St. Bernard Project. She is originally from Kentucky.

Randy Rivault
Randy is the VP of Management Information Systems for United for the Greater New Orleans Area. Every day Randy enjoys a scenic commute from his home in Thibodaux, Louisiana, AKA "Cajun Country," to the great city of New Orleans.
Mary Pendarvis
Mary Pendarvis moved to New Orleans 6 years ago to attend college and fell in love with the city's vibrant culture. After graduating from Loyola University, she began work as a Marketing & Public Relations Associate at United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area. She manages all of the organization's social media efforts, and also does media outreach, event planning and layout & design.
Leigh Thorpe
A New Orleans native, Leigh Thorpe is United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area's Director of Corporate Partnerships. Through her position at United Way and volunteering with several non-profit agencies throughout the area, she is actively engaged in the revitalization of the community she loves.

About Post-Katrina New Orleans
- Today, New Orleans only has 89 percent of its pre-Katrina population.
- Only 70 percent of the jobs based in New Orleans pre-Katrina exist today.
- The cost of rental property in New Orleans increased by 49 percent since Katrina.
- Pre-Katrina, New Orleans had seventeen hospitals with emergency rooms. Today it has eleven.

The mission of the St. Bernard Project is to create housing opportunities so that Hurricane Katrina survivors can return to their homes and communities. The St. Bernard Project, a nonprofit, community-based organization carries out its mission through three primary programs: Rebuilding Program, Center for Wellness and Mental Health and Senior Housing Program.
